The nursery
Welcome to kwekerij Esmeralda! People who visit our company for the first time are usually amazed at what they see. And that’s very understandable, because gerbera means colour! In our greenhouses there are flowers and colours as far as the eye can see. Also at home, gerbera means happiness and colour. A beautiful vase with gerberas or a mixed bouquet with a few gerbera’s brighten up every room. Even one single gerbera can be a real eyecatcher!
Of course we are happy and proud about the fact that we have already grown this wonderful natural product since 2001. We do this in greenhouses with a total area of almost 5 hectare. Quite a large area.. and yet, to us, gerbera will never be a mass product.
Every day, early in the morning, the best flowers are selected and hand-picked. Next, they are carefully sorted and packed by our competent staff. Flowers that are too small or too short are discarded. Around noon the flowers are already on their way to our customers in the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UK or somewhere else in Europe.

Environmental awareness
Gerbera is a wonderful product. However, it’s also a luxury article. We are aware of this, and always try to minimize the influence on our environment.
Certification
Kwekerij Esmeralda participates in the 'Milieu Programma Sierteelt (MPS)' and has had the MPS-A status since many years.
